Tim is a Clinical Psychologist and Credentialed DBT Practitioner who facilitates DBT programs, provides clinical supervision and individual therapy.
Tim’s professional interests include providing effective therapeutic interventions to individuals, families and couples of all age groups including children, adolescents, and adults presenting with Post Traumatic Stress, Panic Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Adjustment Disorder and Behavioral Problems. He has a particular interest in working with adolescents experiencing early psychosis, depression and anxiety.
Tim has extensive mental health experience including: Griffith Youth Forensic Service and Oncology and Hematology, Queensland Health; headspace as well as six years experience as a case managing young offenders with problem behaviours.
Tim is trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness based interventions. Tim provides psychotherapy from an evidence-based framework, and continues to engage in professional development to support his clinical practice.
Tim has completed a Master in Psychology (Clinical). His thesis, a study of body image and disordered eating in adult males. Tim continues his work in this area by providing private practice services to men presenting with body image concerns and disordered eating behaviours. To be eligible for rebates from Medicare a Mental Health Care Plan is required before seeing Tim at Essentia Health Clinic.
