Kaedee Abel (she/they) is a registered psychologist who has experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults in a number of different settings, including youth mental health, a specialist eating disorder clinic, and providing individual and group DBT treatment. Kaedee has experience working with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety and mood disorders, eating disorders, OCD, adjustment to chronic illness, trauma (including complex PTSD), and personality disorders. Kaedee has specific training in the treatment of complex trauma and draws from a three-phase model framework for treatment, prioritising creating safety and stability for the individual.

Kaedee uses a warm, humorous, and person-centred approach to treatment. She believes clients are the expert in their own lives and adapts treatment for individual needs, aiming to include support people in treatment where indicated. Kaedee has experience working with individuals who are neurodiverse and/or are part of the LGBTIQAP+ community and aims to provide an affirming environment for individuals.

Kaedee has undertaken specific training in the treatment of eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns, and is a credentialed eating disorder clinician. She has worked with people experiencing anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and those who may not fit precisely into a diagnostic category. Kaedee draws from a number of evidence-based frameworks for the treatment of eating disorders, including FBT, AFT, CBT-e and CBT-AR, SSCM, and DBT.
